A boarding house for the elderly opened with government support in Kamensk-Uralsky

“The Governor of the Sverdlovsk region Evgeny Kuivashev has set the task to develop a system of support measures for geriatric centers. The residents of the Urals need such facilities, so we, for our part, are looking for opportunities to ensure that such socially important projects are implemented at a high quality level. One of the examples of effective cooperation between the investor and the authorities in implementing initiatives in the social sphere is the opening of this center. The project was realized with the support of the Investment Attraction Agency. And it will definitely not be the last,” said Vadim Tretyakov. 

The Uspensky chain of boarding houses for the elderly has been operating in the region since 2021 and has opened four branches in Ekaterinburg and its suburbs. In 2024, the company decided to launch three more. The boarding house in Kamensk-Uralsky is the first of them. It can accommodate 100 guests. These are people who have lost the ability to self-care: the elderly, the disabled, people who have had a stroke, brain injuries.

The area of the boarding house is 1.7 thousand square meters. There are living rooms and a common living room. For the residents in the center organize four meals a day and leisure activities: physical education classes, specially designed for the elderly, and cognitive training.

“We comply with all SanPiN norms, fire safety rules, we work openly and officially. In Ekaterinburg, we have a medical unit, a factory-kitchen. In time, all this will appear here as well,” said Stanislav Uspensky, the founder of the chain.

Boarding houses in Yekaterinburg are institutions with full-fledged medical services. The network itself is included in the regional register of social service providers, so the elderly can live here, including at the expense of the regional budget. 

“Russian President Vladimir Putin has set a goal that 10% of social services in the country should be provided by non-state providers. And we see that such private projects contribute to the increase of places in boarding houses in line with the expansion of supply. In the near future we are waiting for the adoption of mandatory licensing requirements for boarding houses, which will contribute to the provision of the highest quality services,” said First Deputy Minister of Social Policy Yevgeny Shapovalov.

With the initiative to open new branches the company appealed to the Agency for Investment Attraction, which is now selecting sites for the centers and measures of state support. It is planned to invest 50 million rubles in the opening of at least three new branches within the framework of the project.
