A delegation from the Sverdlovsk Region is presenting its investment and technological potential to Indian business

"Over the past five years, India has firmly established itself among the top ten trading partners of the Sverdlovsk Region, and our mutual trade turnover has doubled. At the same time, more than two-thirds is exports, which confirms the competitiveness of our enterprises and the demand for their products. Today we are ready to reach a new level in the form of joint production projects and the creation of clear cooperation chains," noted Dmitry Ionin.
Enterprises of the Sverdlovsk Region are ready to offer Indian partners products from the non-ferrous metallurgy sector, seamless stainless steel pipes, electrical equipment and hydraulic systems, chemical components and protective coatings, ionizing radiation sources, as well as air transportation services and educational services.
Director General of the Sverdlovsk Region Investment Promotion Agency Yuri Patanin provided a detailed overview of the investment niches available to Indian partners. He also stated that a Center of Competence is being formed in the region to help attract foreign investment together with other development institutions.
As part of the business program, Yuri Patanin also held a meeting with President of Cosmos Group Anil K. Agarwal. The agency already cooperates with the Indian company: the parties previously signed an interaction agreement and agreed to jointly consider opportunities for implementing investment initiatives in the Sverdlovsk Region.
During the meeting, specific projects and possible formats for their implementation were discussed.
On the first day of the business mission, a business forum was held titled "Prospects for Trade and Investment Cooperation between India and Russia: Drivers of Bilateral Growth with the Sverdlovsk Region." More than 60 Indian companies showed interest in cooperation with Sverdlovsk enterprises. The event became the key event of the region's business program ahead of the international industrial exhibition Innoprom-India, which will be held this year for the first time and is intended to become a key driver of the development of bilateral relations.
In New Delhi, the delegates have planned bilateral B2B negotiations, meetings with the leadership of the Ministry of Power and the Ministry of Heavy Industries of the Republic of India, and representatives of major Indian companies operating in the energy, metallurgy, and automotive industries.
According to Minister of International and Foreign Economic Relations of the Sverdlovsk Region Vyacheslav Yarin, the first official contacts between the Sverdlovsk Region and India were established back in Soviet times, and since then our cooperation has come a long way. Today, interaction covers key industries: energy, the oil and gas and metallurgical complexes, the mining and pharmaceutical industries, and transport engineering. Sverdlovsk enterprises actively participate in the construction and equipping of industrial facilities in India and in the modernization of its infrastructure.
The event is in line with the objectives of the national project "International Cooperation and Export."
