A Ural manufacturer of unmanned aerial systems begins producing import-substituting components

The company "Newlink" is launching the production of domestic servo drives with government support.

Previously, Denis Pasler, Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region, announced that the Ural manufacturer of unmanned systems had become a winner of the competitive selection by the National Technology Initiative (NTI) Fund and had been awarded a grant of 300 million rubles to organize large-scale production of domestic components for the needs of the civil aviation industry.

"This is a promising and important area for technological progress — drones are used in various economic sectors. It is crucial for us to gradually create all the necessary infrastructure to independently produce components and set up a UAV maintenance system. We are carrying out this work, including as part of the national project 'Unmanned Aerial Systems'," noted Denis Pasler.

Modern production facilities will be established in Yekaterinburg in 2027. The Sverdlovsk Region Investment Attraction Agency will be responsible for selecting a site for the project's implementation as well as for securing government support measures. An agreement on cooperation was signed by the company's management and the development institute in the presence of Dmitry Ionin, Deputy Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region.

"The company's product line includes many of its own proprietary models, and production of onboard and ground radio-electronic equipment has been established. Localizing the production of servo drives will allow the company to ensure technological sovereignty in this critically important component. These products will be used in unmanned aviation for precise control of position, speed, and the force of mechanisms," said Dmitry Ionin.

The total investment in the project will amount to approximately 600 million rubles.

Last year, Newlink successfully completed a project to organize the serial production of unmanned aerial systems. That project was also supported by the Investment Attraction Agency. Agency specialists assisted the company in obtaining government support measures in the field of unmanned aerial systems (UAS).
