Irbit's cultural heritage sites presented to federal investors for restoration and business startup
Federal investors have assessed the potential of Sverdlovsk cultural heritage sites for launching businesses in the hospitality industry. On March 13, buildings available for preferential rent and restoration for future cafes and hotels were presented in Irbit.

“Governor Evgeny Kuivashev, in preparation for the 400th anniversary of Irbit's jubilee, has instructed to compile a list of cultural heritage sites that could potentially be of interest to investors from all over the country. We see a huge interest of business in our region. And such exclusive real estate is an effective way to attract capital to the region and at the same time improve the appearance of cities, create new points of attraction for residents and tourists,” said Vadim Tretyakov, Minister of Investment and Development of the Sverdlovsk Region.

Representatives of developers, HoReCa companies and investment centers came to Irbit. Among them are hotel chains IFK, Cosmos, USTA, Sberbank, Shokoladnitsa restaurant chain, Sushi-Market stores.

The tour participants visited the city's landmarks: the houses of merchants Kalinin and Kolmakov, the Mavritsky estate, and the Zyazinskaya mill. Some of them require substantial restoration, others, such as the Passage building, are fully ready.

“We are interested in the Sverdlovsk region. We are already represented in Yekaterinburg, we have a project in Syserti. Irbit is a town with history. You can see that there is an investment here, both emotional, physical and material. We liked several buildings. We are considering the possibility to take them for management or rent”, - said Anna Kuvaitseva, vice-president of Cosmos Hotel Group management company.

Large-scale renovation of the historical heritage began in 2017 on the instructions of Governor Evgeny Kuivashev. By the 400th anniversary of Irbit, there are plans to restore 86 objects of cultural heritage.

The Sverdlovsk Region is also among the first regions in the country to apply mechanisms for the preservation of cultural heritage sites based on public-private partnership. The Zhelezhnov Estate in Yekaterinburg, where they plan to open a boutique hotel, has been developed in this format.

The organizers of the presentation of cultural heritage objects were the Ministry of Investment and Development of the region, the Agency for Investment Attraction and the Forum of Tourist Territories. The Agency has also prepared a detailed investment proposal for one of the cultural heritage sites, which will allow to assess the economic attractiveness of restoring the site and launching a business in it.

The tour takes place within the framework of the conference “Sverdlovsk Hospitality and Investment Potential of the Region”. On March 14, interested investors will discuss the specifics of working with cultural heritage sites: from land legislation to support measures. The events are in line with the goals of the national project “Tourism and Hospitality”.
