Key players in the convention and exhibition industry have praised the Sverdlovsk region's event potential

Acting Deputy Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region – Minister of Investment and Development Dmitry Ionin welcomed the participants on behalf of the region's governor, Denis Pasler.
"For several years now, the Sverdlovsk Region has ranked second in Russia's event potential rankings. We are among the top eight regions in Russia for tourist traffic. We have approximately 55 venues that can host business events of any format, and we are currently sharing their capabilities with our colleagues from the National Convention Bureau. This includes not only the well-known Yekaterinburg-EXPO International Exhibition Center, but also the Domna cluster, and the congress facilities of the city's new crown jewel, the UMMC Arena," said Dmitry Ionin.
Sagid Zaremukov, Director of the National Convention Bureau, noted that the Sverdlovsk Region is highly visible at the federal level. Industry experts note the region's well-developed event infrastructure and the high level of support for business events from local authorities. The region also has successful experience hosting international events.
Sagid Zaremukov recommended that the Sverdlovsk Region strengthen its promotion abroad and continue to integrate cultural heritage sites into the business and event tourism infrastructure.
According to Dmitry Ionin, the Sverdlovsk Region has been actively promoting cultural heritage sites to private investors for several years now. Investment tours to these sites were recently held in Irbit and Yekaterinburg.
It is symbolic that the business breakfast with representatives of the National Convention Bureau was held in a restored cultural heritage site—the Afonin Merchants' House.
It's worth noting that on September 18, the HR FORUM BIG FISH 2025 featured an "Event Communications" track dedicated to HR, industrial tourism, and the creation of useful events.
The event was organized by the National Convention Bureau Association and the Ural Convention Bureau under the Investment Promotion Agency of the Sverdlovsk Region.
