Over 30,000 People Visited the Sverdlovsk Region Collective Stand in the First Days of the 10th Russia-China EXPO

The products of Ural companies presented at the 10th Russia-China EXPO, taking place in Harbin on May 17–21, have attracted the interest of potential partners. Over the first three days, the Sverdlovsk Region collective stand was visited by more than 30,000 people.

In line with the exhibition's theme, the Ural participants presented products fr om the food and confectionery industries, jewelry, natural cosmetics, logistics and tourism services, and timber industry products.

"During the exhibition, Sverdlovsk entrepreneurs held negotiations with importers, distributors, representatives of major retail chains, and buyers of cosmetic products. In just three days, more than 160 business contacts were established with potential partners, which will lay the groundwork for concluding new export contracts. The key areas of future cooperation identified are: the creation of joint ventures for deep wood processing with finished product output; and the launch of a joint wholesale distribution center for the import, storage, and distribution of food products, including fruit and vegetable products," said Dmitry Ionin, head of the Sverdlovsk Region delegation.

The key event of the business program was the Business Cooperation Conference between the Sverdlovsk Region and Heilongjiang Province, timed to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the Agreement on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical, and Humanitarian Cooperation and the 35th anniversary of the signing of the Agreement on the Establishment of Sister-City Relations between the Sverdlovsk Region and the city of Harbin.

As a result, an agreement was signed between the Investment Promotion Agency of the Sverdlovsk Region and the Russia-China Industrial and Innovation Cooperation Center (Harbin) of the International Economic and Technical Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China.

The parties agreed to develop a comprehensive system of industrial and innovation interaction. The priority areas identified were resource integration and bilateral information exchange in the fields of high-tech manufacturing, biomedicine, electronics, information technology, and new materials. Special attention will be given to the commercialization of Russian fundamental research using Chinese applied experience.

In addition, during a meeting with the Food Industry Association of Heilongjiang Province, wh ere five Ural companies presented their products, the parties reached an agreement on a joint presentation of food industry products from the Sverdlovsk Region and Heilongjiang on a pro bono basis within a single pavilion at an exhibition in Shenzhen in August of this year, as well as in the Harbin Bonded Zone.
