SIEMENS AG AND OOO Ural Locomotives

URAL LOCOMOTIVES is a joint venture between Sinara Group and Siemens AG, specializing in the design and manufacture of electric freight locomotives, as well as Lastochka passenger electric trains, which are characterized by increased efficiency, high consumer, operational and environmental characteristics.

On September 7, 2011, Russian Railways OJSC, Sinara Group and Siemens AG signed a contract for the supply of 1200 cars of Lastochka electric trains (Desiro RUS type) for Russian Railways until 2023.

The production of Swallows is organized at the Ural Locomotives plant in Verkhnyaya Pyshma (Sverdlovsk region).
