Processing of marble

In the region, there are 16 limestone deposits (carbonates for lime) with a reserve of 157,814 tons, 16 decorative marble deposits with a reserve of 56,876 tons, and 28 building stone deposits with a reserve of 111,556 tons.

Production volumes:

• 136.6 billion rubles non-metallic mineral products

• 4.3 million tons cement

• 697 thousand m³ products made of cement, concrete, artificial stone

• 12% of all dry building mixes produced in Russia are consumed in the Urals.

Scientific and production base – Ural State Mining University, Mining Institute of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Uralmekhanobr Institute (Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company).

Among the promising niches are: 

• extraction and processing of crushed marble for road construction, residential and industrial construction, decorative cladding, 

• extraction and processing of chips, sand, flour, decorative marble, and limestone.
