A modern data center will appear in Yekaterinburg in 2028

Investments in the project will exceed 3 billion rubles. A corresponding agreement was signed by the region's Investment Promotion Agency with LLC "Data Center YEK."
"Sverdlovsk Region ranks third in Russia in terms of digitalization level. The introduction of high technologies, the use of smart systems in the operations of industrial enterprises, businesses, and urban infrastructure undoubtedly open new opportunities for the development of the regional economy. But these processes also require new capacities. To process increasing data flows, modern technological solutions are needed. <...> On an area of four thousand square meters, we will create over 450 server racks. The center will be certified to the high reliability class Tier III, and its power capacity will be from 7 MW, which is more than many analogues. This will allow potential clients to implement large-scale projects and modernize the infrastructure of enterprises and companies without limitations," wrote Denis Pasler on his social media.
According to the project, a 6-story building will be constructed in Yekaterinburg. 29 new high-tech jobs will be created.
"At the beginning of last year, 194 data centers were operating in Russia, 10 of them in Yekaterinburg. More than two-thirds are concentrated in Moscow today. This, in fact, opens up significant opportunities for the Middle Urals, considering consumers' desire for decentralization of data center services and the goals of the national project 'Data Economy,'" noted Deputy Governor of Sverdlovsk Region Dmitry Ionin on his social media.
The investor has extensive experience in constructing and commissioning data centers, including in Yekaterinburg, St. Petersburg, and Moscow.
"The Investment Promotion Agency will provide informational support for the project and consulting on providing state support measures regarding tax benefits and the mechanism for reimbursing costs for supporting infrastructure," said the Agency's General Director Yuri Patanin.
It is worth noting that the development of digital infrastructure, including data centers, aligns with the objectives of the national project "Data Economy."
